1. People with learning disabilities participate within the community with confidence

**2 Purpose of the role**
Facilitators support the coordinator in the organisation and delivery of Fuse’s programme of activities. Together, the coordinator and facilitators implement a programme that realises Fuse’s vision.

- Members, their family and whānau and/or carers
- Trustees
- Colleagues and volunteers
External
- Wellington City Council staff
- Event and facility staff
- Other associated NGO and/or disability organisations
**4 Responsibilities**
**Programming**
- Contributes to the development and supports the delivery of an interesting and creative programme of activities that:
- aligns with the vision and values of Fuse
- has significant input from members
- advances the social skills of members
- increases opportunities for community interaction by members
- encourages groups of members to participate together in community based activities
- supports members to participate fully in all aspects of Fuse
- supports members to demonstrate behaviour appropriate to the social situation
- demonstrates and actively encourages positive communication and interaction with colleagues and members
**Administration**
- supports the coordinator to manage members’ fees/koha and all associated banking, receipting and recording
- supports the coordinator to maintain accurate records - including: membership details and attendance records
- submits a weekly timesheet to the coordinator
**Health and Safety**
- ensures any specific health and safety requirements of members are followed closely
- stays up to date with Health and Safety requirements
- actively supports and complies with H&S policy and procedures.
- ensures the safety of members at all times
- participates actively in hazard management and identification process.
- proactively reports and remedies any unsafe work condition, accident or injury
**5 Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
**Qualifications**
- able to work lawfully in New Zealand
- able to meet the safety checking/police vetting requirements as a member of the workforce for vulnerable people
- experience in the delivery of services
- experience of working with people with disabilities
- good oral and written communication skills
- ability to work in collaborative peer and other stakeholder relationships.
- ability to maintain consistent high standards of professional behaviour and achievement when working independently and as part of a team.
- ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
