This is a new role in the Commercial and Procurement team which will offer you plenty of opportunities to contribute to building our future. You will join us at the beginning of our journey, and will play a major part in forging our way forward.

This is a pivotal role in the establishment of the commercial and procurement function. You will take a customer service and solutions-focused approach to your work and will collaborate with business units to add value to the Authority’s commercial activities. You will also contribute to the implementation of our strategy, policies and plans as we continue to establish the function.

This isn’t your typical advisor role. We are looking for a self-motivated, strategic thinker with excellent relationship building skills who enjoys making a difference in an environment that is outcomes-focused. We are looking for someone who is ready to take the lead on procurement and commercial initiatives across the Authority.

You will have proven experience in managing end to end competitive processes, ideally within the public sector. You will also have successfully negotiated contracts that reflect the best possible outcomes for an organisation.

Essential to securing this role will be your ability to demonstrate:

- proven skills in relationship building and engaging with others to prioritise, negotiate and resolve business problems in a pragmatic way
- a strong working knowledge of NZ Government Procurement

Although you will have firm foundation in procurement practice, there will be opportunities to develop new skills and take on more challenging projects. You will join a small team, so there will be plenty of opportunity for learning and sharing new ideas.
