The Reactive Maintenance team in Wellington are looking for a Leading Hand to join the Downer family.

**About the role**

Your day to day will involve a range of activities including footpath and road maintenance, slip clearing, storm clean ups, drainage works and operating plant.

We offer plenty of development opportunities for our crew who put in the hard yards, we support and encourage training and upskilling, so you’ll be open to learning and growing your skillset. If you enjoy spending your days outdoors and getting involved in practical work, this is the job for you

You may be required to work overtime hours or away from home if requested, reasonable notice will be given.

**About you**:

- Full drivers licence, Class two advantageous
- Good literacy, numeracy and computer skills
- Ability to plan daily works, operate and maintain machinery without supervision
- Experience with small plant like concrete cutter, chainsaw, plate compactor and concrete breaker
- Self-motivated, energetic, proactive and results-orientated
- Co-operative and uses initiatives
- Great communication skills and experience dealing with customers
