**About us**:
Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 364 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawkes Bay region, which includes Wairoa and central Hawkes Bay. We have most major medical and surgical subspecialties as well as paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology. The medical and renal departments work closely alongside a strong ICU and emergency teams, and support primary healthcare and community services. The Renal department care for over 100 dialysis patients across the whole region, and look after acute and chronic kidney problems in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

**About our team**:
As a regional hospital, your after hours work will be in Acute General Medicine. There is opportunity to extend your training time in Hawke's Bay by rotating through other medical registrar positions that are accredited for both advanced and basic training. The registrar team is cohesive with good peer support.
Hawke's Bay offers an excellent contrast to tertiary hospital training with a wide variety of exposure to interesting and rare medical cases, in a higher needs population demographic. It is a rewarding place to work with many registrars returning to the hospital as senior medical officers.
- Qualified for RACP Advanced Trainees in Renal. RACP Advanced Trainees in other medical specialties wishing to gain renal exposure are also welcome and can accredit renal runs as part of non-core training.
- Enthusiastic to work in a friendly secondary hospital with a complex and diverse cohort of patients and collective goal to improve healthcare for all.
- Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
