**About us**:
Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 364 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. In addition to psychiatry, we have a busy Emergency Department, most major medical and surgical subspecialties on site (except cardiothoracic and neurosurgery), as well as paediatrics and O&G. We are well supported by a strong regional ICU team. We have extensive Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.

**About our team**:
The 5 Paediatric Senior House Officers work as a team with 5 Registrars, and 9 Specialist Consultants. The 10 RMO's share a combined roster, covering all acute areas including the Children's Ward, Special Care Baby Unit and Delivery Suite. At the start of the run a series of training opportunities (eg Newborn Life Support, Paediatric topic lectures) is arranged and House Officers are mentored by more senior staff.
There is the opportunity to sit the Diploma in Child Health. This is an ideal run for trainees considering Paediatrics as a career and there is an established pathway for those ready to step up to a training Registrar position in due course. The run also provides extensive Paediatric experience for future General Practitioners, ED staff etc.
- Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY3 or above.
- Applicants must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
