Te tūnga | The role
This role is a key part of the Outputs Service Line in Technology Services at Stats NZ. We work on various systems used to release our data and information outputs, our frameworks include.NET, PHP, Silverstripe, API, Azure technologies with lots of integrations.

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- defining, designing, and implementing complex data infrastructure solutions for our corporate environments
- producing high-level designs, solution option analysis including costing and licencing guidance where needed
- producing solution architecture documentation, reviewing technical designs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our technology capabilities
- translating business and project requirements into technology designs and blueprints
- helping decommission legacy systems as well as designing and delivering enterprise-level solutions using various technologies and platforms both in cloud (Azure) and on-shore

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams, providing direction to help us implement our vision. You will also work with the wider community of solution architects and enterprise architects growing the effectiveness of our digital services, documentation, and processes.
Your work will be informed by collated technical and functional requirements, customer needs, enterprise architecture, StatsNZ and governmental policy and strategy, legacy systems, operational dependencies and by organisational governance.
You will work through the life cycle of multiple projects, navigating complex, often competing requirements to optimise designs, while managing stakeholder expectations.
