Bakery Manager

**Position Available: Bakery Manager - Flagstaff, Hamilton**

Are you a motivated individual with a passion for the bakery and café industry, coupled with strong financial acumen?

We are looking for a qualified **Bakery Manager** to lead our team in Hamilton. This **permanent, full-time** position requires a minimum of **40 hours per week**, with a maximum of **45 hours**. Our business operates **7 days a week, from 5 AM to 5 PM**. Flexibility to work on **weekends, public holidays, and during peak order periods** is essential.

The pay rate is $25 to $30/ per hour based on the level of experience and qualifications.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring business efficiency and profitability.
- **Monitor financial performance**, including revenue tracking, cost control, and expense management.
- **Manage purchasing, pricing strategies, and budgetary constraints** to optimise profit margins.
- **Prepare financial reports, GST returns, and end-of-year documentation** in coordination with the accountant.
- **Process payroll, ensuring accurate timesheet records and compliance with wage regulations.**
- Handle banking procedures, including **cash register management, sales invoices, and payment processing**.
- Maintain accurate stock control and manage supplier orders effectively.
- Ensure compliance with **food safety and hygiene standards**, keeping thorough records.
- Develop and oversee the **staff roster and seasonal promotions menu**.
- Conduct recruitment, training, and supervision of staff to maintain service standards.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
- Report any incidents or operational challenges to the owner and undertake administrative duties as required.

**Work Experience and Qualification Requirements**:
- A relevant **tertiary qualification** (Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Management); OR
- At least **three years of experience** in a management role within retail, administration, café, restaurant, or the service industry.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with experience in **budgeting and financial reporting**.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
- Clean criminal record and drug-free status.
- Must hold **NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa**.
