Auckland City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

At the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) the work we do counts - it is challenging, unique and continuously evolving. We aim to create better outcomes for investors, consumers and the New Zealand economy through our unwavering commitment to promoting and facilitating fair, efficient and transparent financial markets.

**He angitūtanga**: The opportunity

The Monitoring & Oversight (M&O) team is involved in licensing and monitoring most entities across Aotearoa's financial services and engages with the likes of banks, insurers, fund managers, derivatives issuers, Financial Advisers and Supervisors. The M&O team also collaborates with the Reserve Bank, the Commerce Commission, and other government and industry bodies.

**He kōrero mōu**: About you

Communication, critical-thinking and maturity (not necessarily linked to age) are the keys to success in this role. Because you will be engaging with senior stakeholders at our regulated entities, you need to be able to build strong relationships and converse clearly and concisely with confidence.

Established financial services or regulatory industry experience is a must, and a working knowledge of the various financial markets legislation will be helpful (but can be taught to the right person).

**Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou**: What we offer

We're not just all about work though - you'll join a caring, supportive team within an organisation that provides great learning opportunities, a comprehensive induction programme and actively promotes talent. We have a genuine commitment to work/life balance and flexible working arrangements because we know that life isn't just about work.

We offer up to 5 days additional leave over the Christmas period, a dedicated 'Fun Squad' organising regular activities and events, but most importantly you'll be proud knowing that the work you do is creating a legacy for New Zealand.
