We are seeking a motivated Senior Policy Analyst to join our Strategy and Inquiries Policy team at MSD. Are you passionate about making a difference for New Zealanders?
About the role / Te āhuatunga a te tūranga
The opportunity is in our Strategy and Inquiries Policy Team.
The team is responsible for supporting MSD's policy response to both the Waitangi Tribunal's Kaupapa Inquiry programme as well as MSD's response to independent Royal Commissions of Inquiry, including the inquiry into Abuse in Care.
MSD fully supports the work of the inquiries, and an important part of our work is to understand what lessons can be learnt from these inquiries in order to deliver stronger Te Tiriti-based policy advice that contributes to MSD's work.
The team performs a range of functions that relate to both responding to the various inquiries so that they can undertake their work, considering proactively how MSD can respond to inquiry recommendations, and advising our Minister. This is a role that requires strong internal and cross agency engagement, analysis and advice provision.

We are keen to hear from a motivated Senior Policy Analyst, or an experienced Policy Analyst who is ready to step up into a Senior role.

**The core parts of the role will include**:

- providing or contributing to advice on complex issues that is clear and well-reasoned, with mínimal support
- bringing together evidence to develop options advice and draw conclusions as appropriate
- engaging with key internal and external stakeholders
- working collaboratively on projects both within and across agencies
- helping to build the capability of people in the team, including supporting junior staff in their work

- ability to prioritise and manage work programmes well

- understanding of te Ao Māori and commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Position Description

**Salary range**: $105,099.00 - $128,455.00
