Join Auckland Council as a **Healthy Waters Specialist - Community Resilience** and play a pivotal role in enhancing flood resilience across our region. Reporting to the Manager Flood Risk, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to raising public awareness and promoting flood-smart behaviours.

**Day-to-day you could expect to work on**:
- Developing and coordinating technical content for public education on flood hazards, safe behaviours, and preparedness actions.
- Collaborating with communications specialists to ensure materials are engaging and culturally appropriate.
- Providing technical input and review for collateral developed by other teams or contractors.
- Preparing property-specific flood risk information for residential and commercial audiences.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within Auckland Council and external partners.
- Coordinating Healthy Waters participation in community events, workshops, conferences, and school programmes.
- Representing Healthy Waters at public events, delivering presentations and supporting workshop facilitation.

You are a passionate professional with a comprehensive understanding of flood risk management and community engagement. Your strong interpersonal skills, technical literacy, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities enable you to effectively educate and engage with diverse audiences.
You thrive in dynamic environments, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You’re a team player and work collaboratively to enhance Auckland’s flood resilience.
**We will be looking for the following specific qualifications and experience**:
- Tertiary qualification in environmental science, civil or environmental engineering, geography, urban planning, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of post-graduate experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in preparing technical reports or educational materials for public use.
- Proven project coordination or project management skills.
- Experience working with stakeholders or the public in a professional capacity.
- Experience in community engagement and education initiatives.
