Auckland Council’s Healthy Waters department has an opportunity for an Operations Engineer within the Operations North team.
The main office is based in Orewa but you will be required to complete jobs in the surrounding areas from North to West within T_ā_maki Makaurau.

In this role you will utilise your strong technical ability and integrity to contribute to the effective delivery of complex, quality, stormwater infrastructure projects. This role will also be required to highlight risks and ensure that they are reviewed and mitigated accordingly.

You will be able to bring your creativity to the forefront and champion innovation and build strong effective relationships with all stakeholders and contractors.

Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

- Ensure that customer satisfaction is a top priority, particularly for the public and aim to improve satisfaction wherever possible
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and the wider teams in Infrastructure & Environmental Service, Community Facilities, Auckland Transport and Watercare Services, wider stakeholders such as Auckland System Management, Waka Kotahi and Kiwirail, as well as developers and other infrastructure providers
- Contribute to Health, Safety and Wellbeing within the team as well as contractors undertaking works for Council and the public
- Carry out reliable asset lifecycle and cost optimization analyses to inform renewal and operational practices are robust and reliable

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

This role requires experience in similar operations roles, with a sound understanding of consultation and stakeholder management.

We will be looking for specific experience with:

- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent experience
- Local government and associated political environment desired
- Consultation and stakeholder management influencing
- Must have a clean and full NZ drivers’ licence
