We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced paediatric nurses who would like the opportunity to work in a community setting in the role of Children’s Community Nurse Specialist within our Community Child Health Team based at Waitākere Hospital.

Our Children’s Community Nurse Specialists provide advanced nursing practice within an interdisciplinary team to promote safety, independence and self-care for whānau who have pēpi/tamariki with complex health needs in the home.

In this role, you will be visiting tamariki and whānau in their homes to provide specialist nursing care within a case management model across a variety of paediatric health areas including acute/chronic/complex medical cares, neonatal care and wound management. Your ability to work autonomously - to advocate, consult and collaborate -would be well utilised in this senior nursing role.

For this role, you will need to have:

- a shared passion and commitment for whanau-centred care and cultural safety
- a minimum of 5 years’ experience in paediatric nursing, including acute paediatrics
- a PG Diploma in a specialty nursing practice (or working towards this)
- a current APC and NZ drivers’ licence

In return, we offer you a great opportunity to be a part of an area of specialised nursing practice and be supported in a full programme of orientation and supervision. You will have flexibility and autonomy in your work, as part of a small but supportive team of

paediatric clinical nurse specialists who work across the full week - so say good-bye to afternoon or night shifts.

If you are ready for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a community setting, then this could be the opportunity for you.
