At the Pharmacy Department, we provide expert advice and assistance to ensure the safe and cost-effective prescribing and administration of all medications within Te Toka Tumai.

The Trainee Rotational Pharmacy Technician position will involve learning various duties on a rostered basis and will include:
- Imprest ordering and maintenance, and assisting with the ordering, supply and distribution of Pharmaceuticals for in-patients
- In and Out - patient dispensing and clinical trials
- Controlled Drug Processing
- Manufacturing various medications for supply to in-patients
- Cytotoxic, sterile, and non-sterile, learning in compounding and dispensing
This is a fixed term position, up to 5 years or on successful completion of qualification - working daytime Monday to Friday role (40 hours) with additional after hours or weekend work included.

We are looking for bright, motivated people who are willing to learn, have a high level of accuracy and an eye for detail. You must be willing and able to enrol in a course and study towards the NZQA New Zealand Certificate in Pharmacy (Technician) Level 5 qualification. You will need to be a team player who is always helpful and respectful to colleagues and other hospital staff.
Ideally you will have demonstrated a drive to learn technical skills and abilities and previous Hospital or community experience would be beneficial, though not essential.
