Are you an experienced hospital pharmacy technician who would like to challenge yourself in a senior role? A role scoped to extend the existing technician career pathway into clinical pharmacy services?
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The successful applicant of this exciting role will lead, drive and extend the current ward technician role by ensuring the delivery of optimal medication management services to both our patients and staff through the provision of clinical pharmacy services. Working with the Pharmacy Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing, expanding and incorporating aspects of clinical pharmacy services into the career pathway for technicians at Te Toka Tumai. This will initially include medication history taking and patient counselling and may develop into other areas such as medicines reconciliation and penicillin allergy relabelling.
You will support the Clinical Pharmacy team to ensure the provision of safe and cost effective drug therapy to achieve optimal outcomes for patients in accordance with Te Toka Tumai and Pharmacy policies and procedures.
This permanent, full time role will be supported with the necessary training and development to support the wider roll out of Clinical Technician services in the future.

**Key Functions of the role include**:

- develop, coordinate and contribute to the delivery of high quality and timely clinical pharmacy services
- prioritise work of the available staff to optimise service outcomes
- undertake performance review and development of staff
- provide leadership within the team for the development, review, evaluation and teaching of workplace policies and procedures

A passionate pharmacy technician committed to furthering yourself and your peers you'll come to us with a Level 5 qualification and experience providing ward technician services in New Zealand or overseas. You will be patient focused, assertive, confident, have good interpersonal and communication skills alongside a high attention to detail. You'll be a flexible, organised professional, proactive problem solver, have an appetite for learning and be enthusiastic about extending your scope.
