Our products don't just serve ads or stream movies - they underpin our economy and touch people's lives. **About the role** As a Software Specialist in Cloud Enablement/Kafka Squad, you'll be part of our team that is at the forefront of developing and supporting Kafka integrations. Being part of the Engineering Practice at ASB we encourage our teams to work autonomously in an agile way while actively growing their skills and expertise to continuously improve outcomes for our customers. You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on with some interesting and complex pieces of work that integrate on an enterprise scale, all while being part of a smaller squad that makes their own decisions about how to work through prioritisation - so your voice will be heard, and your opinions valued. We advocate for T-Shaped teams which will take you through all facets of engineering in any given day. We are looking for a mix of technical skills to support the following activities: - Working with Architecture to define the direction of event streaming at ASB during our journey to the Cloud - Driving adoption of Kafka at ASB by assisting teams with Kafka integration and solution design - Maintaining and enhancing our internal Kafka C# libraries to ensure low friction integrations for internal teams - Ensuring the success of the Kafka team through project prioritisation, mentoring and removing roadblocks **About you** About you: We'll value your proven initiative, problem solving abilities and ways in which you have shown leadership while performing your role. We are looking for someone who has: - Strong C# development background - Extensive knowledge of Kafka or similar event streaming platforms - Experience with Cloud-based event streaming solutions - Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD tooling - 5+ years' experience developing with and administering Kafka systems ASB's sense of who we are and what we stand for is grounded in our values.
