Our Information Technology (IT) Unit focuses on the delivery of world class solutions that ultimately have a positive impact on the lives of everyone in Christchurch. We offer a fantastic opportunity for you to continue to develop your professional skills and will offer a large variety of business focused technology projects. We are seeking a dynamic individual with proven team leadership skills to take on the critical role of Team Leader in our Data Management Team.

The key focus of this role is the leadership of a team of highly skilled staff managing a diverse range of datasets such as customer, property, rates and assets. Key responsibilities will include continuing to establish and build on the Data Automation Center of Excellence embedding this into the organisation, collaborating and supporting the organisation to ensure industry standard governance and quality of our data, and helping to shape and champion a new information management strategy.

To be successful in this position you will enjoy motivating and developing people, and will lead a great team of experts in their field with a passion for data management, governance and automation. You will understand how large complex organisations work and partner with key stakeholders at a senior management level to
- Understand business needs and outcomes
- Develop and communicate product roadmaps and their alignments to the Digital Strategy and the needs of the business
- Build the capability within the Council, empowering our people to own and maintain their information assets
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
