Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We're looking for a knowledgeable and energetic Senior Portfolio Manager to join a multi-disciplinary team focused on supporting the digital portfolio activities within Data and Digital, which supports the health system to deliver better services and health outcomes to all New Zealanders.
You will be responsible for working across the motu to lead and guide portfolio activities including investment planning, delivery, monitoring and assurance in support of delivering strategic value and benefits for the sector. This role will have a focus in the infrastructure space and provide an opporunity to leverage your previous experience in this area.
This is a challenging role that will require exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills to ensure that the full range of perspectives are understood and balanced whilst operating in an environment of change. This role contributes to the delivery of a range of strategies via the facilitiation and negotiation of roadmaps and investment plans, ensuring a focus on wider health system value.
You'll able to seamlessly work across both the strategic level activities required, and at a hands on level to ensure the balancing, integration and dependency management activities across the roadmap. This will contribute to providing a focus on the balancing of the investment portfolio in line with agreed strategies and frameworks to ensure delivery of required outcomes and value.
Mōu | About you
You must have the ability to know what's important and be able to keep a focus on the outcomes required, whilst being able to flex and adjust the activities needed to get there. Your ability to build and maintain constructive and productive relationships will be exceptional.
You will have a strength in being able to tailor complex technical messages to a range of audiences so that understanding of what we need to do and why is clear. Included in this is the ability to prepare a range of clear materials in support of the portfolio activities.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**:
- The position will span the full spectrum of portfolio management activity, and as such it requires significant experience and skills of delivering similar outcomes in complex and technical environments.
- Experience of working with both project and product views at a portfolio level, with an equal focus on investment assessment and value reporting
- Strong experience of effectively shaping and embedding a complex and high value portfolio or investment framework.
- A dynamic and energetic approach and ability to consistently deliver at pace in a very demanding environment
- A bias towards action and delivery
- Able to multi-task on a range of activities, with impeccable attention to detail
- Work well as part of a team and be comfortable using your initiative
