**Join Our Whānau - Youth Worker (Full-Time)**

**YMCA Taranaki - Youth Development Team | 37.5 hours/week**

Are you passionate about empowering rangatahi and making a real difference in their lives? YMCA Taranaki is on the lookout for a dedicated **Youth Worker** to join our vibrant Youth Development team. This is more than just a job - it’s a chance to be part of a kaupapa that uplifts young people, whānau, and the wider community.

We’re seeking someone who is:

- **Rangatahi-focused**, with a heart for mentoring and guiding youth through life’s challenges.
- **Flexible**, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when needed.
- **Committed**, to building strong relationships with rangatahi and their whānau, helping them achieve their goals and grow their potential.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Mentor rangatahi one-on-one and support their journey through YMCA programmes.
- Engage whānau and community to create a strong support network.
- Promote wellbeing, resilience, and positive behaviours.
- Respond professionally to crisis situations with empathy and confidence.
- Use sports, arts, and cultural experiences to connect and inspire.

**What You’ll Bring**:

- Experience mentoring youth individually or in groups.
- Strong understanding of **Te Ao Māori me ōna Tikanga**.
- Full, clean driver’s licence and ability to transport youth.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and resilience.
- Ability to work across diverse cultures and settings.

**Bonus Skills (Desirable)**:

- Knowledge of youth justice and Family Group Conferences.
- Experience advocating for rangatahi.
- Ability to assess and develop individualised plans that build confidence and skills.
- Relevant youth work qualification (or willingness to gain one on the job).
