**Real | Mō mātou**
Real is the youth brand of Pathways. Real Whanganui's new youth service is called Whetū Marewa (Rising Star). The aim of this service is to build the confidence, resilience, and wellbeing of taiohi, aged 12-24 years, with mental health and addiction related issues. Support combines a positive youth development approach with brief intervention. Registered health professionals and youth workers provide support in locations where young people are, such as schools and in the community with the goal to provide easy access to support for those who need it.

**The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi**
We're looking for a New Zealand Registered Social Worker to join our Whanganui Youth service. You will align with our tikanga (principles) and kawa (practice) and support the clinical components of Whetū Marewa.
In this role, you will have experience in mental health and working alongside taiohi (young people) and their whānau.
Some of your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting taiohi with their primary mental health in school or in the community.
- Enhancing confidence, resilience and wellbeing in the taiohi we support.
- Supporting taiohi to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives.
- Providing assessment and support using a range of evidence-based brief interventions.
We have a new permanent opportunity at this service, working Monday
- Friday, 8.30am
- 5.00pm
**You | Mōu**
You will use your social worker lens to influence care plans that reflect a person centred, holistic approach and inclusive of whanau.
And also have:
- A Degree in Social Work
- A Registered with the NZ Social Workers Registration Board
- Hold and maintain a current Social Work practicing certificate and meets the requirements of any competency programme.
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of community resources that may enhance whai ora/taiohi/whānau care.
- At least two years' experience in the Mental Health and Addictions support sector.
