**About the Role**
As a **Community and Whānau Wellbeing Team Lead,**you will work using a community partnerships approach to design, develop, enable and evaluate. The primary purpose of the role is team management, delivery, performance, and development. It involves operational leadership, resource utilisation, and coordinating programme planning, delivery, evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and reporting across various programme areas.
The people and performance responsibilities of the role work in collaboration with the technical and professional responsibilities of other regional and local roles such as Senior Advisors/Officers, Regional Development and Delivery Leads, and relevant professional leadership roles.
The Team Leader role will also deliver operational work and have responsibility for work programme(s) relevant to their professional skill set (depending on the size of the team they are responsible for).
**About the Team/Service/ Location**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
**About you**
You are an experienced leader able to nurture and develop a team to make them feel valued. You're open to new ideas and create a culture where individuals at all levels bring their ideas on how to ‘do it better' to the table. You're able to work collaboratively across the sector and organisational boundaries to influence the nursing contribution to better outcomes for our whānau and communities.
You will either:
- hold an existing operational role in our team
- Meet the eligibility requirements of the following position currently being recruited for:
- **Health Promotion Advisor**
- **Senior Health Promotion Advisor**
- **Senior Kaihāpai Oranga**
Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification/degree in Public Health or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in team leadership and management, preferably in a public health context
- At least 3-5 years' experience in a public health service delivery role
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in
- Clean NZ Driver Licence
- Willingness to travel across the region
