**Medical Assistant - Medplus**

We are a vibrant, innovative general practice, offering healthcare services through GPs and nurses located on the North Shore with easy access to the northern motorway.

We are looking for a full time Medical Assistant to join our busy team. We aim to provide the highest standards of quality and accuracy in both healthcare and service, but we know this doesn't just happen.

As a Medical Assistant, you will help us to achieve this by liaising with our staff, and provision of care, to ensure a smooth healthcare journey for our patients. The primary objective of this role will be to develop a rapport between patients and our staff.

**Essential duties and responsibilities**:

- Communication with patients and their families throughout their experience - become a first point of contact.
- Coordinate healthcare needs with the teams to ensure that each patient has a smooth transition from one team to the next.
- Work with management staff to bring awareness of our strengths and services to patients and the community.
- Have an overview of medical notes and ensure the necessary information is available for clinical staff in an appropriate timeframe.
- Work alongside, support and coordinate patient needs in conjunction with our administration team

**Education and Experience required**:

- A tertiary qualification in either health or business administration field
- Some practical experience in a healthcare setting
- Some practical experience in an administration setting

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required**:

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be culturally aware
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be customer service oriented
- Must be an active listener
- Must have a high level of negotiation and persuasion skills
- Must be able to work efficiently and independently, and use initiative to solve problems
- Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of windows-based programmes
- Must have well developed organisational skills and be an effective time manager and multi-tasker.
