About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi
We're seeking a dedicated Skills Management & Forecasting Manager to join our dynamic team.
You'll play a pivotal role in leading workforce analytics, capability planning, and proactive talent management, contributing to our mission of keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.
As Skills Management & Forecasting Manager, you will:
- Provide strong leadership to a high-performing team of workforce planners, modellers, and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop talent, building team capability in advanced analytics, scenario modelling, and operational forecasting.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration, building strong partnerships across Service Delivery, Clinical, Analytics, Finance, and Digital teams.
- Influence and inspire senior leaders and stakeholders, providing clear, evidence-based advice that shapes ACC's workforce strategy and operational decisions.
- Drive change and performance uplift by connecting data-driven insights with workforce capability, workload design, and skill mix.
- Provide high capability in translating complex analytical outputs into practical strategic options and recommendations.
- Strong skills in developing briefings, business cases and strategic papers that influence decision-making at senior leadership levels.
- Model ACC's values, demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all aspects of leadership.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience leading and developing technical teams in large, complex operational environments.
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge thinking and drive strategic direction at all levels.
- A strategic mindset, able to balance immediate operational needs with long-term workforce sustainability.
- Expertise in workforce analytics and forecasting, with advanced skills in Snowflake, Power BI, Excel, and SQL.
- Deep understanding of ACC's operating model, policies, and service delivery functions, and the ability to translate demand profiles into actionable workforce strategies.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end case management lifecycle and ability to link case complexity, client pathways and recovery patterns to workforce, skills and capability requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change, fostering resilience and adaptability within your team.
- Experience designing and implementing skills frameworks, capability uplift programmes, and workforce maturity models.
- Commitment to inclusive leadership, supporting the growth and wellbeing of a diverse team.

The appointing salary for this role will sit between $138,301 and $178,977 and we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution. ACC offer a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme with features like 0% contribution required by you, optional life and income protection insurance, and the flexibility to change to a locked plan at any time, ensuring your financial security now and in retirement.
