We are looking for an exceptional manager to provide leadership, support, guidance and coaching to Family Works staff in Whanganui to deliver high quality client-centric social services and counselling. If this sounds like you read on
**About the role**
This full-time role is responsible for overseeing a small team of social service professionals to make a meaningful and positive contribution to addressing social need and improving the wellbeing of children, families and whānau in the Whanganui district.
In the role you will:
- Successfully recruit, develop, manage, and motivate your team and build a positive and thriving workplace culture.
- Ensure contract and statutory requirements, and policy and best practice guidelines, are understood and complied with.
- Provide financial oversight of budgets, reporting and annual business planning; and implement remedial actions as required.
- Carry a small caseload and provide professional supervision to your team
- Establish and maintain strong local connections and networks within the communities that Family Works Whanganui is based.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a tertiary qualification in social work, counselling or a related field.
- Has experience in an NGO social services environment and understands the delivery of services within funding contracts
- Has experience leading and managing the performance of their team
- Has advanced competence in working with children, families and whānau where family violence is a concern.
You will also:
- Be passionate about supporting tamariki, families and whānau.
- Have a deep understanding of the complexity of issues your team will deal with.
- Have sound cultural competence to guide and support appropriate service delivery.
- Be able to build trust and respect with all those you work with.
