Are you a Registered Nurse looking for an opportunity to join our friendly, supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team to provide mental health and addiction services to service users/tangata whaiora?

Our Mental Health and Addiction Services works in conjunction with primary health, mental health and addiction non-government organisations (NGOs), Kaupapa Maori services and community agencies to ensure service users/tangata whaiora needs are met in all aspects of their lives. We provide a range of mental health and addiction services in the community, rural areas and on our Whanganui Hospital campus.

We are looking for an experienced Registered Clinician to work within our urban Community Mental Health and Addiction team. The successful applicant must have experience in mental health and/or addictions; have a range of case management, clinical assessment and treatment intervention knowledge and skills to support people to achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes in their recovery. The AOT caseload focuses on high acuity clients that require team (2 person) approach to their care.

This position requires you to have several essential skills and knowledge requirements beyond the normal relevant tertiary qualification, NZ registration with a professional body and current Annual Practicing Certificate.

To be considered you will need:

- The ability to demonstrate high levels of clinical knowledge in mental health disorders, psychiatric and addiction medications and the management of risk.
- Practice based therapeutic modes of intervention in a person centred, family friendly, recovery model.
- Three years minimum experience working with case load management, identifying co-existing problems and delivering clinical and psychosocial care in a variety of community settings and proven practical experience as a registered health professional in mental health and addiction clinical settings, adult addiction and co existing problems in mental health is preferred.
- High levels of communication, customer relations and managing diversity skills, empathy and bi-cultural sensitivity.
- Competent computer skills in Microsoft Word and ability to learn computer software packages quickly, a police clearance and current clean driver's license are also required.
- Have a compassionate and enthusiastic understanding for mental health well-being and ability to deliver impactful interventions.
