Our Department is unique in New Zealand and we have a vibrant research culture. Surgical and medical components of musculoskeletal diseases and injuries are combined into one discipline utilising both academic and service personnel.

We are involved in many projects primarily in the areas of clinical outcomes, cartilage regeneration, tissue engineering, joint arthroplasty, rehabilitation, bioengineering and function of tetraplegic patients.

**_ The role - Te mahi_**

This particular Assistant Research Fellow appointment will see you working in the Paediatric Orthopaedic clinics predominantly based at Christchurch Hospital.

In this role, you will be helping with patient recruitment, follow-ups and data analysis for the International Hip Dysplasia Registry and SCFE Longitudinal International Prospective Registry registries.

**Some key tasks include**:

- working with the Principal Investigators to maintain the database and processes of the new study registries.
- providing support to the ethics approval process.
- coordinating with the central registry coordinator and responding to queries.
- data collection.
- collection of radiographic information in conjunction with clinicians.
- survey administration/scoring questionnaires.
- literature searches.

**_Your skills and experience - Kā pūkeka me kā wheako:_**
- Clinical experience in dealing with Orthopaedic Paediatric hip disease.
- Able to interact with patients and parents within a clinical environment.
- Experience using SI PICS.
- Ability to interpret clinical data pertaining to paediatric problems.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team
- Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail.
