**_About our team/Mō te tīma_**
The department of Māori/Indigenous Health Innovation (MIHI) undertakes research, teaching and community service in response to supporting Māori health advancement. We are seeking a research fellow to join our whānau to facilitate the Ngā Hua Akoranga research project: Māori Solutions for Global Problems: Nga Hua Akoranga, Learning from MIHI Mobile Vaccination Programme to Achieve Equity.
**_The role/Te mahi_**
The Mihi Mobile Vaccination team, in partnership with mana whenua ki waitaha, was the first kaupapa Māori vaccination programme to deliver covid-19 vaccinations to Māori and their whānau across Ōtautahi. The Ngā Hua Akoranga research project will utilise the MIHI Mobile vaccine programme as a case study and backdrop to evaluate the impact of governmental decision making on the delivery of kaupapa Māori vaccine clinic in Ōtautahi. The impacts of this research will be focused on identification of systemic barriers and enablers that will support future pandemic and national vaccination responses that are effective for Māori and their whānau.
Your prime function as a research fellow within our team includes assisting in preparation, planning, implementation and write-up of the research project.
**_Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako_**
- PhD or equivalent Doctorate, Masters degree minimum or relevant postgraduate qualifications.
- Demonstrated capacity for collaborative research and a record of publications in refereed journals preferred.
- Experience of research with Māori community.
