Due to current business opportunities, we are looking to appoint an Associate Civil / Hydraulics Engineer to join our fast-growing Water team for our New Zealand operations. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.

**The Associate Civil / Hydraulics Engineer responsibilities will include**:

- The purpose of this role is to provide specialised Technical Service at an associate level, developing solutions to (potentially) complex problems requiring a comprehensive understanding of practices, techniques, concepts and theoretical principles.
- Establishes and maintains client relationships.
- Co-ordinates different groups involved in design and oversees multi-disciplinary teams.
- Reports on and monitors progress on designs responsible for.
- Serves as an expert within own discipline.
- Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practice.
- Considers multiple perspectives to identify different solutions.
- Able to work independently and lead functional teams or projects.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
Qualifications**
- Qualified Civil Engineer with professional recognition.
- Extensive previous experience on civil design projects
- Experience in hydraulic design preferrable.
- Good knowledge of relevant industry related New Zealand Standards and codes.
- Displays technical leadership and is exemplar in quality delivery and review processes.
- Takes responsibility and accountability for work activities and coordinating design efforts
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
