The Conservation Assistant provides technical support and assistance to the museum’s busy Conservation team. This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth operation of the conservation laboratory and compliance of scientific equipment, while also helping with conservation workflows across the collection care program. This is a full-time and permanent position.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
To be successful in this role, you will offer:

- A Tertiary qualification relevant to the Museum’s collections and activities
- Prior knowledge of laboratory operations, chemical management and scientific analysis is highly advantageous
- Proven knowledge in conservation principles and practices
- Experience working with collection material, including the safe handling, packing, rehousing and storage, preferbaly within a GLAM institutional setting- A flexible attitude and willingness to learn new skills and take on a variety of tasks- Effective interpersonal and time management skills
- A self-motivated work ethic and team player
