**About the team**

The HVDC & Power Electronics team is responsible for optimising and maintaining key assets such as HVDC stations, synchronous condensers, SVCs, STATCOMs, and series compensation systems. As part of our Grid Delivery division, we ensure New Zealand's electricity grid delivers reliable power today while preparing for the needs of tomorrow.

In this newly created role, you'll report to the Service Performance Manager and work closely with engineering teams, regional delivery teams, and service providers across the country. Together, you will manage the complexities of diverse power electronic assets within a dynamic grid environment.

**About the opportunity**

As Service Delivery Manager - Power Electronics, you will oversee the maintenance, performance, and project delivery for Transpower's specialised power electronics assets across New Zealand. You'll drive operational excellence, ensuring alignment and standardisation across regions while providing vital technical support to our service providers, projects, and asset management teams. With multiple large projects scheduled over the next decade, exciting challenges lie ahead.

Your ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders and service providers, optimise asset performance, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards will be key to your success.

Key responsibilities include:

- Monitoring, analysing, and driving service delivery improvements, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost-efficiency standards.
- Providing technical support for maintenance and projects, overseeing commissioning, acceptance, and compliance processes.
- Contributing to long-term asset management planning by advising on asset reliability, performance, and maintenance strategies.
- Leading alignment initiatives for service delivery standards across regions and with service providers.
- Acting as the main point of contact for contractors, service providers, and internal stakeholders, resolving issues promptly.
- Supporting the development and implementation of standard maintenance procedures for power electronics assets.

**About you**

You're an experienced engineer or project manager with a background in power electronics, asset management, or maintenance. You excel at leading teams, driving performance improvements, and building strong relationships.
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- At least five years' experience in project or maintenance management, ideally with hands-on experience
- Knowledge of SVCs, STATCOMs, or power electronics systems, and their auxiliary systems
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- A focus on safety and quality, with a track record of delivering commercial outcomes
- A willingness to travel regularly and participate in an on-call roster (a full and clean NZ driver's license is essential)
