The Regulatory Services group leads and influences two key regulatory systems for Aotearoa. In the gambling system we deliver community wellbeing through reducing gambling related harms; and in the anti-money laundering system we protect the trust in Aotearoa’s financial systems.

We are a responsive risk-based regulator focused on reducing harm and ensuring that iwi, hapū and communities across Aotearoa are safe, resilient, and thriving.

**The opportunity**:
We are seeking an experienced person to step into our newly created Principal Advisor, Strategy and Business Planning position and hit the ground running. Your previous depth and breadth of experience in strategy and planning, will enable you to make quick work of gripping up our group’s new strategy and understanding the key priorities for our two regulatory regimes. Collaboration, the ability to influence, strategic thinking and connectedness, are skills that come naturally to you, as you partner with our leaders and their teams to convert our strategy to actionable and measurable outcomes relevant to each regulatory system, ensuring that it links into our overall group strategy.

This is just the start and there is so much more for you to sink your teeth into. Working as part of the Regulatory Enablement Directorate leadership team, to ensure our group strategy is fit for purpose; ensuring the group has fit-for-purpose frameworks and process for business planning, work programme planning and reporting; reporting on how we our tracking to our outcomes; and working with our group to develop and implement measures that support the implementation and delivery of strategy, to name a few.

This is a ‘doing’ role, so it would suit someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in when required.

**About you**:
You will have experience in:

- Development of strategy implementation measures and plans
- Setting business planning and reporting frameworks for groups.
- Setting long term strategy implementation and business plans.
- Leading business planning and reporting in a regulatory environment.
- In non-financial performance reporting and planning frameworks within the Public Sector.
- Leading change and improvement initiatives in complex business environments.
- Working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Using Te Tiriti-centric and/or Te ao Māori approaches to improve outcomes for Māori.
