We are seeking a Principal Advisor Market Strategy to join our Digital Engagement team within Engagement and Experience Branch, Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery. Engagement Experience supports millions of customer interactions each year and works closely with others to ensure customers have the information, education, and tools they need to act with confidence. Put simply - we make it easy for people to do the right thing.

The Principal Advisor Market Strategy is a leadership role that has responsibility for the success of the Small Business portfolio, through products and services that build capability, or make it easier for businesses to interact with government and access support that will help increase customer and stakeholder engagement.

The Principal Advisor Market Strategy will primarily be responsible for:

- Ensuring our resources reach the right audiences at the right time. This will mean helping us plan, design, produce, promote, and measure the impact of our resources and campaigns, using all assets and channels available to us - from our newsletter to social media, from partnerships with media organisations to AdWords and native marketing campaigns.
- Providing expert advice and contributing to the operations of the unit. The unit is responsible for providing consultative advice to managers and operational services liaising internally across the group and with external providers to meet business needs.
- Creating and implementing internal and external strategies that will help increase customer and stakeholder engagement and propel our brand's image, to achieve and support customer outcomes.
- Utilising and providing strategic advice, leads and balances timely delivery with mitigating risk, understands challenges and opportunities for New Zealand Small businesses operating in a highly agile manner to meet customer needs. Acts as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and provides effective coaching to developing colleagues.

**Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required**:

- Mastery of machinery of Government including execution of process improvement, stakeholder consultation processes and change implementation.
- A high level of experience and proven track record in leading large work programmes, taking into account both strategic and operational needs.
- Ability to think strategically and analytically and translate ideas and concepts into concrete actions.
- Exceptional proven judgement, integrity and discretion, with experience problem solving, managing and mitigating risk.
- Experience building credible, respected relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Ministers, senior managers, team members, people in partner agencies and key external stakeholders and opinion leaders.
- A proven track record of experience and achievement as a strategic leader, demonstrating workplace agility and resilience; influencing and shaping future-focused consensus among differing agendas; understanding and navigating systems to overcome roadblocks and accomplish objectives; understanding whole of system dynamics to achieve strategic and operational goals.
- Experience with finance and budgeting.
- Relevant tertiary education and work experience in delivering or developing customer value by putting their needs at centre of work.
