We have a great opportunity for someone to join our team here at Waikato Hospital where they will be working in partnership within a team of 11 anatomical pathologists and 2 registrars. The department works in in collaboration with clinicians from across the hospital and region to deliver anatomical pathology services in a tertiary hospital setting.
While our anatomical pathologists will cover all areas of general pathology, there may be the opportunity to participate in some areas of sub speciality depending on the applicant’s background and experience.
As an anatomical pathologist in our team, you’ll have autonomy, mastery and purpose to deliver your mahi and contribute to the broader objectives of our busy laboratory.

**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**
The Pathology service provides an extensive range of diagnostic testing across five laboratory sites in the Waikato region and processes referred specialist testing for the wider region.
The Anatomical Pathology department based at Hamilton hospital is supported by a modern, well equipped histology and cytology laboratory with an enthusiastic and skilled scientific workforce. There is access to a wide range of diagnostic stains and techniques. The laboratory processes over 20,000 cases per year, participates widely in multidisciplinary team meetings and receives expert review cases from across New Zealand.

- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality and timely service
- An ability to solve problems in a complex, constantly changing environment
- Applicants must hold a Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
