**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
The Police Prosecution Service (PPS) is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to take up this key leadership role as the Deployment Manager (PPS). This is an exciting new position that offers ample opportunity to innovate and drive change, ensuring that PPS is fit for purpose now and in the future.
You will be joining PPS at the start of an exciting period; with a significant injection of new funding and the Prosecutions Uplift Programme established to support this, PPS is recruiting new staff, establishing new roles and looking to develop new ways of working - all with the goal of ensuring our national team provides great prosecution services to our community and are well supported to do a great job. We are pleased to be able to use this funding to recruit a substantial number of additional staff to support our hardworking team. We will be streamlining and creating consistency in our practices, and introducing greater flexibility into our resourcing so we can inject extra support into offices when work demands change. We want to enhance PPS systems and policies so that our staff are supported and are proud to be a part of the PPS whanau. And the Deployment Manager will be instrumental in this
The National Deployment Manager (PPS) will play a lead role in helping PPS perform to its full potential. In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment of our prosecutorial staff across Aotearoa. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and imbedding a new deployment model to enable effective and efficient deployment decisions to be made. Your work will ensure our staff are well prepared and able to manage prosecutions through to appropriate and timely resolutions. With the support of our two Practice Managers, you will also identify and oversee the recruitment of new staff to ensure PPS is appropriately resourced to provide the excellent prosecutions service that New Zealanders expect and deserve.
This role will require you to be a collaborative and innovative leader working with our expert prosecutorial staff and justice sector partners to understand demand, and to plan and direct resources in accordance with good deployment practice. You will implement effective solutions to complex deployment challenges, always looking for continuous improvement opportunities. This will make you a key member of the PPS Leadership Team.
