Ventia has an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Electrical NZ team based in Auckland.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Our Energy Network and Renewables team in Auckland has an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician. This role will be responsible for the operation of laboratory equipment conducting daily analysis of samples, registration of samples and result entry.

**Other responsibilities will include**
- Daily analysis of samples and operation of all items of equipment, including minor maintenance
- Calibration of instruments that require it either on use or as they fall due
- Registration of samples as they arrive in Ventia Oil Testing laboratory
- Dispatch of sample containers to clients
- Inform Ventia oil testing Manager with report production if required

You will report to the Oil Laboratory Manager supporting with calibrations and quality control checks to ensure accurate results and the requirements of the laboratory’s accreditation to ISO 17025 are being met.

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have experience in a role in a laboratory environment and preferably in an FMCG or other similar fast-paced industry.

Other have the following key skills:

- A strong attention to detail
- Good communication
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite of programmes
- Strong work ethics and able to work according to different priorities and work load

In addition to the above it would be advantageous if you are familiar with the calibration of equipment, have experience with gas chromatography or titrations, have worked in a ISO17025 laboratory.
