**He aha te mahi? What’s the role?**:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Global Quality is a senior leadership role within the end-to-end supply chain which has responsibility for the global Zespri quality systems; for providing customers with the assurance that every Zespri branded kiwifruit fruit has been grown, packed, stored and delivered through our global supply chain to meet Zespri’s world-class quality promise.

The Zespri Brand is underpinned by the Zespri Quality System to ensure we deliver the best quality Kiwifruit to our customers and consumers across the globe. Zespri is recognised as a world leader in quality management in the fresh produce sector and success in the future is dependent on the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.

This position is responsible for the delivery of the Zespri Quality System Globally and specifically for:
**Strategic Leadership** - develop a long term quality strategy that ensures the Zespri System is compliant to customer and market requirements, consumer focused and aligned with Zespri’s vision and values while encouraging a strong quality culture throughout Zespri and its various global supply bases

**Zespri Quality System Ownership** - proactively identify strategies for meeting changing customer, regulatory and environmental requirements while instilling a culture of understanding and execution of best practice quality management, compliance and operational excellence through the wider kiwifruit industry

**Stakeholder Management** - partner constructively with Zespri’s industry partners, including Postharvest and Growers, to ensure that Zespri kiwifruit is grown, harvested, packed and delivered to the most optimum quality standards and that any required changes to the quality system are adopted by industry partners

**People Leadership** - guide, manage and develop the Global Quality teams that drives operational excellence, minimises total quality costs across the entire supply chain and ensures that Zespri kiwifruit meets the Quality promise for our customers

**Continuous Improvement** - drive CI and utilise the power of data driven insights across the supply chain and work collaboratively with the wider supply chain including Postharvest and Growers

**Sustainability Initiatives** - demonstrate Zespri’s commitment to sustainability principles as a core value of the Zespri System and support these initiatives throughout the supply chain

**Ensure Best Practice** - utilise new technology/knowledge so that it is understood and implemented through the entire supply from growing to delivery to customer

**Ko wai koe? Who are you?**:

- 10 years’ experience in the primary sector (preferably in a fresh produce supply chain)
- An ability to understand relevant new technologies and science concepts
- Broad based understanding of the kiwifruit industry’s global supply chain
- Sound understanding of fruit production, postharvest management and supply chain operations
- Understanding of regulatory, consumer and customer requirements associated with growing, export and distribution of fresh produce
- Clear understanding of data analysis tool and the value of data driven insights
- Well-developed commercial acumen
- Excellent analytical skills
