**The role**:
Reporting to their Engineering Design Manager, this key role will see you utilise your experience, talent and skill to develop new products and solutions in line with the business’ growth strategy. You will develop these solutions from the conceptual stage through feasibility, product development, manufacturing and introduction to the market. This is a hands-on role where you can showcase your expertise and vision as you create rotational moulding prototypes, document the design lifecycle and bring your ideas to life whilst having full autonomy of the end-to-end process

**Key responsibilities**:

- Providing concept sketches/models/drawings and prototyping of new products
- Completing and presenting feasibility studies for new products and solutions to bring to market
- Completing design lifecycle documentation
- Market testing, assessment and documenting testing of new products
- Producing final part drawings and specifications, production tooling and product manuals
- Undertaking FEA analysis where applicable
- Reading and understanding relevant standards and other technical information to enable appropriate designs
- Working closely with the Operations team to ensure new products are designed for manufacture and undertaking rotational moulding

**About you**:
You will be an experienced
**Design Engineer** who can bring your vision to life - you enjoy getting into the workshop, taking ideas from conception through to production. Naturally, you are passionate about working in manufacturing, proven by your previous experience on the shop floor, working alongside stakeholders understanding product design, thriving on challenges and opportunities where you can utilise your expertise and innovation to create out of the box solutions to meet the business requirements. You need to collaborate well with others and be confident managing the entire design lifecycle, along with excellent communication, stakeholder influencing and interpersonal skills that will see your success in this role.

**You will also**:

- Have at least 6 years Design Engineering experience - this is a minimum
- Strong proven experience within manufacturing
- Solidworks experience
- Combined with your design engineering knowledge, come from either a machinery design and repair background, toolmaking background, fitter and turner background
