Asset Integrity Inspector

**Position Summary**:
Provide an asset integrity inspection service for PECPR static/pressure equipment, petroleum pipeline, stationary containment, structures and infrastructure; and technical support to the organisation for all inspection and repair activities. **Position Responsibilities**:

- Actively participate in the Methanex condition assessment programme, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Contribute to achievement of safety, plant availability and reliability targets.
- Lead teams during projects and events.
- Implement inspection and asset management strategies.
- Responsible for planning, organising and communicating information and results of equipment inspections through written reports.
- Responsible for supervision of contract inspectors including NDT, PEI, tank and pipeline inspectors.
- Ensure statutory inspections are completed for all applicable pressure equipment, pipelines and tanks as per the asset management system to comply with all legal, PECPR, HSNO regulations, codes and standards, and Methanex standards and procedures.
- Authoring technical inspection reports and issuing of certificates.
- Lead investigations and finding of root causes for significant static equipment failures and near misses.
- Provide technical support and direction to the Maintenance Supervisors, Technicians, Engineers, Turnaround Team and other key stakeholders for static equipment repairs and maintenance, regulatory inspection and compliance matters.
- Lead repair methodologies for critical equipment where appropriate.
- Maintain and update monitoring and reporting systems/programmes to ensure compliance with all Methanex quality management system requirements.
- Provide strategic and technical input into equipment Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), inspection activity work scopes and risk reviews.
- Perform an Asset Integrity group lead role in project work, breakdown and turnaround events.
- Conduct material verification testing/receiving in accordance with Methanex procedures.
- Conduct inspections using specialist equipment such as infra-red, acoustic, portable XRF.
- Develop pressure equipment inspection skillset to support Methanex Inspection Body function and participate in meetings and audits as required.
- Participate in multi-discipline design reviews for the Management of Change (MOC) process as related to the integrity of pressure equipment.
- Conduct basic fitness for service assessments and calculations, as well as assist in more in-depth assessments as required.

**Position Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**
- Engineering or Science degree qualified, Trade Qualification or equivalent
- CBIP Certified Welding Inspector
- CBIP Certified Pressure Equipment Inspector

**Experience and Skills**
- Experience in the petrochemical, refining, processing or related industry
- Experience with Maintenance systems/programmes, procedures and practices
- Experience with quality assurance coordination and inspection of relevant discipline - welding, fabrication, coatings, insulation, materials handling.
- Understanding of NZ legislation, approved codes of practice, international codes and standards particularly AS/NZS and ASME
- Understanding of pressure equipment, atmospheric storage tanks and pipeline management systems
- Corrosion identification, assessment, mitigation and control
- Proficient with MS Office, sharepoint, relevant reporting software, Geographical Information Software (GIS)
- Health and Safety awareness specifically for hazardous tools such as portable XRF (radiation)
