**The opportunity - Te tūranga**

As Business Correspondent reporting to Newsgathering Editor, you will identify and report fair, accurate and balanced stories about business, finance and the economy for TVNZ's audiences across digital and linear platforms.

Our focus is on driving audience understanding of major economic events and business news with astute analysis and clear, creative storytelling.

**What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei**

The Business Correspondent will be an established journalist with a track record of breaking stories and setting the editorial agenda with their work.

Familiarity of politics is desirable, but knowledge of the business world is essential for this role, and you will have high level of communication skills to understand and report on complex stories for a range of audiences.

With an extensive contact book and a demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with editorial leaders across different shows and platforms, The Business Correspondent will have a high level of decision-making skills and personal credibility both in the newsroom and outside it.

You will provide editorial heft to the newsgathering team and must have the flexibility to work outside usual business hours for major news events. Organised, with excellent time management skills they can demonstrate a high level of technical ability and knowledge.

An energetic and driven journalist, you will work well under pressure and can meet multiple deadlines across the day.
