Ngā kawenga | About the role
As the Senior Security Adviser, you will be responsible for helping staff at all levels, nationally and regionally, understand their security responsibilities within the Protective Service Requirements (PSR). This will include providing regular security advice, support and training and helping to identify and escalate significant security risks to senior management.
You will assist with the coordination and development of the annual external reporting of Corrections' compliance with the PSR and coordinating the maintenance of the Corrections' PSR work plan.
You will also support the design, implementation, analysis and reporting process for managing ‘threats to staff'. This will include providing informed recommendations for the continuous improvement of the process and ensuring staff are protected and supported.

- A comprehensive knowledge of Security Risk Management processes and how they are applied under the New Zealand Standard ISO 31000: Risk Management.
- Demonstrated experience at positively influencing organisational culture.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience in diagnosing complex issues quickly and accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and maintain a broad range of key relationships internally and with external parties.
- A background in security is required for this role.
You will need to have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $108,180 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $91,953 - $129,816 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
