Te tūnga | The role
The Manager - Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) reports to the EPO Director - EPO and has up to ten direct reports. The Manager-Enterprise Portfolio Office (EPO) is responsible for providing effective leadership to a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Change Managers who support the organisation in delivering on its strategy. Each of the three Managers-EPO has a focus on leading staff to drive projects that relate to particular priority areas within the strategy.

- Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Portfolio operations and planning perspectives.
- Relevant work experience, for example working in a EPO, Project Manager or Manager roles
- Able to professionally and confidently present sometimes complex information concisely to a range of audiences.
- About your knowledge and experience, or willingness to learn about Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Māori.
- How you've demonstrated, encouraged or supported diversity and inclusion in or outside of work.
- An appropriate professional and or tertiary qualification (e.g., Management of Portfolio, Project Management - Prince 2, Business Degree).
- Five or more years' experience as a Project and or portfolio management.
- Prior experience in portfolio management including governance reporting and Investment Planning
- Strong management background and, preferably, experience in leading a project team.
- Proven ability to think strategically at an enterprise level and to support executive leaders in making investment and prioritisation decisions.
- Sound understanding of economic, social, and governmental influences, the political environment and other agencies and groups likely to impact on Stats NZ.
- Proven ability to manage across all levels in an organisation and develop and maintain strong working relationships across an organisation.
