Our Structural team provides design, documentation and contract administration services to all of the Council's assets. Our services range from pre-design feasibility and design through to construction completion. In addition to this, the team manages the physical works programme for structures maintenance for bridges, culverts, retaining walls and guardrails.

Reporting to the Team Leader Architectural & Structural Design you will:

- Assist in providing structural design to enable the delivery of the Council's capital programme;
- Assist in giving pre-design and/or post design structural engineering advice to Council Business Units;
- Assist in managing projects and construction contracts; and
- Support the Senior Structural Engineers as well as the rest of the Technical Services and Design Department.

For an interested holder of this position, there will be the opportunity to specialise in design and construction management of bridges, culverts and retaining walls ongoing maintenance.

You'll be working in a busy, supportive team environment with direct access to a diverse range of infrastructure design experts. The most rewarding part will be that your work will be used to benefit the team and the people of Christchurch. Our team's specialist work areas include:

- Transport structures such as retaining walls, pole foundations and bridges
- Marine structures such as jetties, wharves and coastal protection
- Three waters structures such as culverts, drains, reservoirs and pump-stations
- Small to medium community buildings
- Parks, arts, heritage and recreational structures

You'll be a recent graduate with a BE Civil or equivalent qualification and have relevant post graduate experience. This is the opportunity to see your projects through from design options through to completion while working alongside and learning from some of our City's experts in structural engineering.
