**Your day**-to-day**:
As a Platform Engineer, you'll be at the heart of ensuring the availability, performance, and enhancement of our production environments. Your day will involve managing and improving Lotto NZ platforms, both on-premises and in the cloud. You'll implement infrastructure as code and automate tasks to enhance efficiency. Monitoring system performance and ensuring all environments are up-to-date with the right versions will be key responsibilities. You'll work closely with the Environment team, Development, testing, and release capabilities, as well as external partners to ensure our environments are fit for purpose and highly available.

You'll support Lotto NZ’s public cloud tenancies, providing troubleshooting and developing documented procedures and operational run books for cloud systems. Maintaining and improving cloud system monitoring capabilities, supporting identity and access management policies, and adhering to Lotto NZ security standards will be crucial.

Your proactive approach will drive continuous improvement, as you'll monitor, manage, and patch all environments, using appropriate tools and processes to enhance availability, management processes, and the speed of releases.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you'll document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure they are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practices. You'll ensure BCP and DR procedures are in place and accurately reflect the current environment, incorporating new services or feature releases proactively. Your role will be dynamic and multifaceted, involving a mix of technical responsibilities, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions. You're dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of security, reliability, and performance across all environments.
