Our Checkout Manager has progressed into another role within the grocery industry and we are, therefore, seeking a new Checkout Manager, or a person experienced as a Checkout Supervisor, who has the desire and ability to be trained up in the role of Checkout Manager.

The Checkout is the main customer facing role within our supermarket and our customers require the highest level of service, and awareness from all staff, as well as being led by a Checkout Manager who promotes and encourages the best practice levels of customer service.

The Managers role includes, but is not limited to, Managing the Staff Roster and, while on the floor, managing meal and rest breaks for the team of the day. You will be ably assisted by experienced Supervisors.

You are also responsible for the legal compliance issues within the department, which include the sale of Alcohol, Tobacco and Lotto and the relevant laws under which the products are controlled as well as maintaining the correct signage in and around the checkout.

You should also have a strong understanding of your Health and Safety management responsibilities under the Act.

You will also be responsible for the Induction and training of new staff into the department and ongoing refresher training, in various areas of your responsibility, from time to time.

The role will also have the responsibility to effectively deal with customer complaints and enquiries and bring them to a satisfactory conclusion, while at the same time identifying and focusing on the customers' needs and requirements.

It would be an advantage should you possess a Duty Manager's License and also be authorized to sell Lotto. We also have a postal agency instore.

The pay rate will be competitive and discussed at the interview.
