**About Four Points Sheraton Auckland**
Four Points by Sheraton is a hotel brand owned by Marriott International, one of the world's largest hotel chains. A modern, upscale hotel located in the heart of Auckland's central business district. The hotel offers 255 spacious guest rooms and suites, all of which are equipped with modern amenities. **About the Role**:
This position directly reports to Executive Chef and will be responsible for day-to-day management of F&B department.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Quality**
- Ensure Marriott’s Brand Service standards are consistently practiced by the team and lead by example in this area.
- Provide Brand sufficient Food and Beverage service across all and any of the hotel’s Food and Beverage outlets through the Restaurant, Bar, In Room Dining, Banqueting and roof top concept.
- Maintain highest standards of hygiene and quality assurance practices.
- Ensure that the table service is effectively managed and every guest feels cared for, valued and respected.
- Ensures that stock levels are maintained so that an ample supply of listed products is always available, if not then an adequate alternative is suggested at a reasonably similar price.
- Organizing the effective flow of customers through the restaurant including hosting, seating, serving and fare welling guests.
- Ensure that the restaurant and/or bar set up is efficient, safe and clean and maintained at all times.
- Ensure all outlet associates are groomed in accordance with the Associate Handbook
**Team Management**
- Collaborate with management to develop and carry-out ideas and procedures, and set goals to continuously improve department performance around guest and employee satisfaction scores.
- Coordinate tasks and work with other departments to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
- Assist management in establishing and communicating goals, performance expectations, timetables and deadlines for shift or departmental operations to hourly employees and ensure that they are understood
- Be pro-active in developing team and individual skills
- Create development plans for associate to ensure ability to perform position specific duties.
- Coach and develop employees (e.g., create expectations for continual improvement, provide challenging tasks and assignments, hold development discussions, and construct and execute development plans)
- Assist management to ensure that hourly employees have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs (e.g., supplies, equipment, and inventory).
- Be self-motivated and perform to the highest level
- Follow performance management SOP’s as directed by HR Manager
- Ensure you regularly attend communication meetings held within the department
**About You**
- Previous hospitality experience is essential.
- Current LCQ, First Aid certificate or General Manager's Certificate are an advantage.
- Positive attitude and the flexibility to confidently respond to a range of different work situation.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Flexibility to work all shifts including weekends.
- Physical fitness.
- Full NZ driving license essential.
- Opera experience is essential.
