Join Te Whatu Ora at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of creating a more equitable, accessible, cohesive and people-centred health system. This is mahi that will improve the health and well-being of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it.
**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
Talofa lava, Mālo e lelei, Nisa bula Vinaka, Kia Orana, Taloha ni, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Talofa, Mauri.
Can you bring a Pacific worldview to the work we are doing to achieve better health outcomes for Pacific people in Aotearoa? We know many areas of the health system are not working well for Pacific people, aiga, ngutuare tangata, famili, kāinga, magafoa, kaiga, vuvale and kaaiga (families) and communities. In fact, Pacific health inequities are observed throughout the lifecourse, from pregnancy and early childhood through to older age.
In Pacific Health, we have a clear vision of a system that allows the strength of Pacific families and community voice to be at the heart of what we do, delivering equitable health outcomes for Pacific people and a future where Pacific families live longer, healthier lives.
The Pacific values of family, service, love, reciprocity and respect, along with Pacific culture and customs, influence the way we think and every action we take.
We have an opportunity for a **Research Analyst **to join our Pacific Health Group. This role will contribute analytical expertise and technical advice to the GM of Pacific Pipeline and other key leaders to provide the foundations for evidence-based analysis and informed decision-making.
The day-to-day of this role will see you researching, collecting and evaluating data from a range of internal and external sources, providing modelling and analysis, creating dashboards for data visulisation and contributing to reports and projects for process improvement.
**Mōu | About you**
You are a skilled Research Analyst specialising in health, with a history of building strong relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations, particularly with Pacific peoples. Your career has seen you contributing to the direction, development and delivery of strategy, plans and services via your advice and technical expertise.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- The ability to collect, assimilate, and summarise raw data in a systematic way to build a useful data-set for analysis
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical advice, modelling and analysis, research, and input into reports, requests and briefings that are appropriate to the audience
- Experience running queries and building dashboards
- An understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, the significance and obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including a deep understanding of Pacific culture and protocols
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in health, information technology, healthcare informatics, research, statistics or related field
**Ka kawea e koe | You will bring**:
- A foundational knowledge and skills to safely engage with, and effectively deliver, quality services for Pacific communities.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth

Te Whatu Ora supports flexible and hybrid working for our kaimahi. In roles that don't require an in-person element, we encourage you to ‘work from where you are.' We want our national teams to be made up of diverse people from across the motu, just like our health system.
**Nau mai, uru mai | Come and join us**
When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system. This is a once in a lifetime change that will touch the lives of everyone in Aotearoa, and future generations.
Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining together of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.
We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures greater access, experience and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system - Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
**Tō mātou whakahaere ki te tika, te rerekētanga, me te whai wāhi mai | Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion**
