Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

**About the role**:
The Service Owner is responsible for the following on behalf of the business owners of ICT solutions:

- Defining service vision
- Creating the service roadmap
- Prioritizing and leading product development
- Ensuring it receives the required maintenance and support, including managing backlog
- Provide business context and facilitate decisions with the business stakeholders for project and support activities
- The Service Owner develops and maintains strong relationships with multiple stakeholders to prioritise business needs, understand business value and ensure that project and BAU teams understand the business needs and expectations.
- This role is the key enabler to ensure strategic alignment is kept between business needs and the digital strategy, and delivery of ICT services and products. The role is also responsible for prioritising the work programme, and ensuring benefits are realised for the business.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- People leadership and coaching experience, and able to influence key stakeholders to achieve outcomes of mutual benefit.
- Good understanding of a Service Owner role or experience in related positions e.g., Business Relationship Management.
- Excellent stakeholder management with experience managing multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Strong experience in creating or contributing to service/product visions and roadmaps and presenting to stakeholders.
- Excellent understanding of backlog management and prioritising competing requests for delivery.
- Service/product Management experience in a large organisation with competing business priorities.
- Experience meeting timeframes under pressure.
- Able to adopt a wide range of styles, tools and techniques to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
