We at the Bupa Ballarat Care Home, located in Rangiora are searching for an Activities Assistant with a creative flair to join our passionate team. This is a permanent, part-time position, working approximately 22.5 hours per week.

You must be available for the following days:
WEEK 1

Monday, Thursday and Saturday from 0930 to 1730

WEEK 2

Monday Wednesday and Saturday from 0930 to 1730

In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of each of the Parklands Care Home and Retirement Village residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contribute to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities
- Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents’ individual activities programme
- Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families
- Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme

**About you**
- An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred but not required
- Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable
- Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents
- Demonstrate outstanding communication skills
- A fun personality with a creative flair
