I am delighted to present this rewarding Account Management opportunity. The role will appeal to an ambitious, dynamic and strategic sales person, with a focus on DIY merchants and independent hardware retailers.
**About the role**:
- Representing a range of major brand power tools, you will be responsible for managing accounts in the South Island, with the majority of your work focused in the Christchurch area
- Reporting into the National Sales Manager, and with the flexibility to work remotely, you will drive both new business and existing business sales both trade and retail
- Managing your territory to maximise sales opportunities with regular visits both large national and smaller independent retailers. You will need to have the flexibility to travel 8-10 nights per month.
- Visiting head offices and branches of clients to bring awareness of products and drive sales
- Communicating new product releases and getting involved in promotional activities such as tradie breakfasts, trade shows and in-store product demos
- Supporting National Key Account activities to ensure your sales objectives are met
- Providing detailed sales reports in line with your strategy and goals
- Developing and implementing business development and account management strategies to ensure your sales objectives are met
**About you**:
- You have proven experience in both existing account management and new business sales
- You are serious about securing a role where you can truly make your mark you are self-motivated, driven to succeed and the idea of working for one of the world's most recognisable businesses really appeals to you
- Ideally, you have a passion for power tools with relevant experience selling into major independent retailers preferably in the building industry
- You enjoy technical products ideally, youre the sort of person who always gives DIY projects around the house a good go before you bring in the professionals
- You are resilient, intelligent and quick on the up-take this is a complex business, and you will need to get your head around that
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset in how you approach your work but at the same time you can work with tight parameters and rules as required in a major international business
- Strong administrative skills are absolutely essential
- You are reliable, have a passion for sales, strong work ethic, and have excellent and verbal written communication skills
