Mō te tūnga | About the role
This is an exciting opportunity join a dynamic and dedicated team as part of a 24/7 national child protection service. In order to make positive changes in the lives of tamariki, rangatahi and whānau in our community, we need people who have knowledge, experience and are passionate about whānau wellbeing. Our contact centre is a fast-paced environment and your ability to manage a changing workload staying focused on support tamariki, rangatahi and whānau is vital. In this role you will:
- Lead, influence, and support Team Supervisors and Social Workers to exercise professional expertise, decision making and judgement.
- Contribute and support national and regional service delivery performance, systems and practice improvement initiatives.
- Support the development of quality case management and strengthen the climate of critical thinking on site.
We have two positions available within our National Contact Centre, one working within business hours, the other working outside of business hours to support our evening, night and weekend teams. Both positions are 40 hours a week with some flexibility required.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
We are looking for a high impact leader for this role who is also an experienced Social Worker who has worked in Aotearoa in a similar role in a non-governmental organisation (NGO) sector and/or someone who has worked within Oranga Tamariki previously.
**Key requirements of the role include**:
- Full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB)
- Demonstrated evidence of practice leadership, coaching and driving a continuous learning culture.
- A full, clean, current driver's licence
- Expert experience in managing complex practice and casework
- The ability to work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and experience of what Oranga Tamariki does and how we work
- Sound judgement, time management and organisational skills
- The ability to manage risk and make tough decisions
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
