We are seeking a highly capable Senior Advisor - Hate Crime to join the Community Inclusion Team within Police’s Prevention Group. This is an opportunity to contribute to significant and influential work that has wide reach. As the Senior Advisor - Hate Crime, you’ll play a key role in fostering and enabling strong effective community partnerships and prevention outcomes. This includes supporting the continuing implementation and improvement of the Te Raranga programme by providing advice that influences key stakeholders, supporting continued service delivery, and building impactful relationships. The Senior Advisor - Hate Crime will use their knowledge of hate-motivated crime and expertise as an advisor to help protect vulnerable communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.
**Key Accountabilities**:
Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and understand current and emerging issues and trends that have implications for how Police responds to hate-motivated offending
Balance the views of conflicting communities and special interest groups to deliver a legally sound and effective response to hate-motivated crime
Support the continued implementation of Te Raranga by supporting Districts and Services Centres
Develop and maintain informal consultation and information sharing networks with peers in partner agencies and NGOs

Relevant qualifications and/or experience related to hate-motivated crime, policy, strategy and initiative design, implementation, and evaluation.
There may be an occasional requirement to travel to Districts and Service Centres.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425 and $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
